Bravo Bruce Allen!
by Jill Ronsley
Bruce Allen of the Blue Phantom Bravo group has had a winning September. On the 20th and 21st, he attended the League of Utah Writers Roundup. He had entered
manuscripts in five categories and requested a meeting with C. Lee Nunn of American Book Publishing. What happened at the event?
- American Book Publishing asked him to submit the full manuscript of his new middle grade novel for publication.
- His middle grade novel won first place in the Full Length Teen Novel category, for which he received a cash prize.
- He won first place in the Featurette category for another cash prize.
- He won second place in the Children's Story category-and yes, this, too, was for a cash prize.
Bruce says, "The Blue Phantom Writers' on-line groups, which just began in April, have been growing rapidly. The one I belong to is great. Thanks BP Bravo!
Thanks to all of you. You made it happen." What does Bruce have to say about writers' critique groups? "I'm a big believer in critique groups. If you don't
belong to one, join one." Bruce says he feels like "a load of fortune" has been dropped in his lap. It has, Bruce, and everyone at Blue Phantom Writers is delighted to share your joy and success. Congratulations!
